BROOKLYN WATERFRONT DISTRICT
This modern, open-plan home is located in an up-and-coming Brooklyn neighborhood—and housed an impressive assortment of the client's large-scale Modern art collection. Thus, styling called for a minimalistic, clean approach. But the home’s white gallery-style palette needed some real oomph lest it photograph as too sterile.
Throughout the spaces, floral accents and potted plants were foils to the starkness of the home’s monumental artworks and large swathes of white walls.
In the kitchen, cleanliness and organization were top priorities. Attractive cooking staples, greenery, bowls of citrus, and potted succulents added requisite interest and color: cookbooks were stacked, wooden boards and tools are on display, and metallic accents offer up a pleasing richness of tone.
