We were tasked with creating a more ‘lived-in’ aesthetic within this modern, waterfront home on Long Island. Since there were few existing decorative elements in the home’s kitchen and living areas, we added virtually all accents and soft goods, down to the pretty Oriental and Moroccan area rugs. To echo the home's modern style, a huge dining table was dressed only with oversized serving trays and floral accents which help showcase the kitchen/dining area’s architectural details and lighting—like its amazing custom cabinetry & quartet of Tom Dixon Beat pendants.
The kitchen was a matter of adding further texture and color via wood and metal elements, stacks of bright cookbooks, and glass vessels—keeping the heart of the home clean and streamlined. In the master bedroom, masculine pinstriped bedding, paired with black sheets and pillows, compliments the newly-added graphic artwork and bright-red accent wall. New artwork and decorative accents populated the otherwise empty custom shelves via studio-pottery vignettes and vintage pieces of varying sizes, materials & textures.
